If you’ve been to the Kenyan coast, specifically Mombasa’s Lighthouse, then you’re familiar with the energy of the place. Families driving up, chilling in their cars with the trunk doors open, crisps and madafu sellers galore and the salty refreshing breeze from the ocean as it meets the cliffside below.
This is what I sought to capture with a lasercut sculpture that I designed over the last 8 weeks. 274 individual sections of clear and opal white perspex, assembled together to form a diorama of this scene.
The original of a limited series of 10 will be available at The Affordable Art Show on 16th-18th October, at the Nairobi National Museum. Tickets available at https://lnkd.in/d5AKiE8w
